What do you visit?
On this visit we will see the famous Rome Cathedral, St. John Lateran, which is the oldest and most important basilica in the West. We will walk the central nave until we reach the beautiful apse adorned with beautiful mosaics and where the chair of the Bishop of Rome is located.
We will also visit the beautiful Lateran Baptistery; probably built by Rome’s first Christian emperor, Constantine.
Then we will have the opportunity to see the famous Holy Staircase, a must-see goal of pilgrims from all over the world and which according to Christian tradition were climbed by Jesus and brought by St. Helena to Rome.
Itinerary
- Meeting and illustration of the church’s square (15 minutes).
- Internal visit of St. John Lateran Basilica (45 minutes).
- Internal visit of the Baptistery (45 minutes).
- External illustration of the sanctuary of the Holy Staircase (15 minutes).

Illustration of the Holy Staircase is done outside the building, because explanations are not allowed inside.

For security reasons, all visitors have to be checked, therefore when entering the attractions security checks will be carried out with the metal detector. To facilitate controls, all belongings must be placed inside backpacks (including mobile phones). It is forbidden to introduce knives, weapons, glass or metal bottles and containers, alcoholic beverages and spray cans, camping backpacks, bulky bags and suitcases/carts, large umbrellas or umbrellas, while medium and small shoulder backpacks, bags, wallets can be introduced.
